Year 2008

 

During spring 2008 a number of special interest groups and initiatives have been set up in the framework of Cine-Regio. These include:DIGI REGIO, KIDS REGIO, CINE EURO, FILM BOW, DIGI-SEMINAR, INNOMEDIA, ANIMARCO REGIO in addition to a number of producers meetings in the European regions.
 

 

In January 2008 Cine-Regio welcomes another two regional film funds: The Italian Apulia Film Fund and the Norwegian Film Fund FUZZ. 

 

During Berlinale, February 2008, Cine-Regio Focus Report 2008: "The Digital Landscape & the Distribution Revolution", prepared by Michael Gubbins, Screen International, was presented and discussed.
 

 

In april 2008, Cine Regio grows even bigger. We welcome two new regional fonds; Film London from UK, and FILAS Audiovisual Fund from Italy. Cine-Regio now counts 33 members from 15 different European countries. 

 

May 2008, After the 4th General Assembly held during Cannes Film Festival, the Board members Mr. Vincent Leclercq , CRRAV – Région Nord Pas de Calais, France, Mr. Philippe Reynaert, Wallimage, Belgium and Mr. Søren Poulsen, The West Danish Film Fund, Denmark, were re-elected for a new term.

Cine-Euro training, Edinburgh, Scotland 2008


CINE EURO Training for producers is launched in Edinburgh June 2008, and is initiated by regional film agency Screen South who will deliver the programme with the support of Film Export UK and Cine Regio. The programme will be delivered by experienced Co- Producers, Financiers, Lawyers and Sales Agents.
 

 

On 27th August 2008, the European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education had invited Cine-Regio/Charlotte Appelgren to “exchange of views” on cultural policies and present Cine-Regio ‘s activities. Chairwoman of the Committee Mrs. Katerina Batzeli and the MEPs underlined the importance of EU policies to support and promote the EU's cultural dimension and identity, and that Europe’s regional cultures and creative potential are expressed in the audiovisual media.

October-November 2008, Cine-Regio annual Meeting in Leipzig.
The Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung GmbH (MDM) will host this year’s Cine-Regio Annual Meeting, which takes place during the 51 International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film.  The Annual Meeting’s agenda, amongst others, features discussions on members’ activities in the field of children’s and documentary film, future strategies and presentations of new European film studies.
